Our mushroom seed spawn production procedure starts with the sterilization of a media matrix consisting of sorghum seed and Calcium Sulphate and water. Sterilization is achieved at a base minimum internal temperature of 121°C for a minimum of 2 hours. Once cooled in front of a HEPA filtered laminar flow hood (99.99% at .3 microns), contained within a clean room, the bags are inoculated with the mushroom mycelium of the choice species and heat-sealed. Each bag is then incubated for greater than 2 weeks in a sterile incubation room. After incubation, the product is inspected to ensure foreign pathogens have not contaminated the product. All of our grain spawn cultures have a lead time of 2 – 4 weeks and is freshly produced on order.
